One of the tenets of AYSO is Everyone Plays. The national guidelines mandate that
every child on every team must play at least half of every game. It is the policy
of the Region that:
- Each coach play each player at least three quarters of every game
- No player be allowed to play all four quarters unless all other players
have played three quarters, and
- Different players start the first quarter of every game.
Each player is strongly urged to attend and participate in every team practice.
Any player who misses practice regularly may have his/her playing time limited to
one-half (but not less than one-half) of the game. In the event that a coach deviates
from rules above, the rational must be noted on the game card.
Players that arrive late to the game are not guaranteed to play half of the game.
