We are always in in need of coaches, and volunteering to be a coach will guarantee your child a spot (and volunteering as an assistant will certainly enhance your child's chances). On the fence? Read this testimonial. Please follow these steps to complete your child's registration:
Mail your completed registration with your payment (checks made payable to Sunnyvale AYSO) to: AYSO Region 44 Registrar If you are having problems completing the online pre-registration or printing forms you can get assistance at our walk-in registration event on May 20th or June 11th at the Stocklmeir Elementary School GLC (592 Dunholme Way, Sunnyvale, CA 94087) from 6:30 to 8:30pm. Parents of new players are required to provide proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and may either present this at the registration event or mail a copy with your registration forms. If you have any problems or issues please contact the hotline at (408) 749-1950 or email the registrar. Fee assistance is available through Sunnyvale Community Services at (408) 738-4321. Sunnyvale AYSO provides training for coaches, referees, and board members at no cost to the volunteer (except your time!). Co-sponsored by the City of Sunnyvale Parks and Recreation Department. We are in need of more Coaches for the Fall 2007 Sunnyvale AYSO Soccer Season in most age divisions. We depend on parents to volunteer so that all children who register will be able to play. The American Youth Soccer Organization is a 100% Volunteer Organization and provides excellent training for its coaches and volunteers. Coaching is a very rewarding experience and we provide all the equipment and training that you need. If you have not already volunteered to coach, please seriously consider this opportunity. For more detailed information please check the coach area of our website. Below is a testimonial from one of our coaches: My name is Mark Philips, one of the coach volunteers last year I want to encourage any of you that might be "on the fence" regarding coaching or not coaching this year to go ahead and sign up. It's a wonderful experience to coach your child's team. I've been coaching in AYSO for four years now, and I can say that I am very happy I took the plunge four years ago and decided to coach. I was a bit hesitant at first since my only prior experience was being one of two asst coaches on a U6 team. I didn't have a lot of soccer expertise or skill, but I did want to learn, liked interacting with kids, liked soccer, and was excited about the opportunity to coach my son's team. Since then I haven't looked back. Thanks to the positive experience I've had with coaching in AYSO, I now coach three sports (soccer, basketball, and baseball) and referee one (soccer) and I thoroughly enjoy them all. So, if you are thinking you would like to do this, but you are hesitating a bit to sign up to coach, I'd recommend you go for it! I think you will really enjoy yourself, learn a lot about soccer and working with kids, and have a lot of fun at the same time. If you would like to chat about this prior to making your decision, feel free to contact me. And for any of you that do decide to take the plunge and fill one of the remaining coaching spots, I look forward to seeing you out on the field
Goden Gate Camps are AYSO’s Instructional Retreat for Referees and Coaches.
Section 2 Golden Gate Camp for 2008 will be held inthe hills just east of
Oakland at St. Mary’s College, Moraga, California August 1-3. Here we are again ramping up for the fall season. Though our board is active and well-staffed, we are always looking for more people to help out. Being a board member is extremely rewarding, as you will be in a position to make an impact on our entire Region 44 organization. The time committment is not large, and it is far exceeded by the rewards. We need quite a few more essential board positions filled for 2007:
Additionally, there are some special programs I'd like to offer our families (i.e. KidZone parent clinics, coach mentoring, candid sports photographers at games, etc...) Currently we don't have enough people to run these programs, but I know it's possible to recruit enough volunteers to support these valuable and exciting programs. If you are interested in volunteering for one of the above board positions, please let me know.
